ከፊታችን ባለው በስቅለት በዓል፣ በዮናስ እና በኢየሱስ ታሪክ ስለታየው ወሰን የለሽ የእግዚአብሔር ምሕረት ትርጉም ያለው ምልከታ እንዲኖረን በቤዛ ቤተክርስቲያን ተጋብዛችኋለች።
በስቅለተ አርብ ቀን፣ በኢየሱስ ስቃይ እና ስቅለት ላይ እናተኩራለን— እንዴት ለእኛ ሲል ወደ ስቃይ እና ሞት ጥልቅ እንደ ወረደ። ነገር ግን ዮናስ በአሣ ነባሪ ተውጦ ሦስት ቀን እንዳሳለፈ፣ ኢየሱስም በመቃብር ሦስት ቀን አሳልፏል፤ ሆኖም በድል ተነስቷል! የዮናስ ታሪክ ሁለተኛ እድል እና ከተስፋ መቁረጥ መውጫ መንገድ ወደሚሰጠው የእግዚአብሔር ምሕረት ይጠቁመናል። በኢየሱስ ስቃይ፣ መስዎዓት እና ትንሳኤ፣ ምህረት ለሰው ልጆች ሁሉ እንደተዘረጋ እናያለን፣ ይህም በተስፋ መቁረጥ ጊዜያችንም ቢሆን ተስፋን ያመጣልናል።
የሕይወትን ትርጉም እየፈለግክ፣ ወይም ከእምነት ጋር እየታገልክ፣ ወይም ቤቴ ብለህ የምትጠራው ማህበረሰብ እየፈለግክ ከሆነ ና፣ ነይ። ከስቃይ ጥልቀት የሚወጣውን ጥልቅ ተስፋ እና በክርስቶስ ትንሳኤ የሚመጣውን ህይወት ለመቀበል ኑ። ለመስቀሉ መልዕክት ምላሽ ለመስጠት ኑ።

But just as Jonah was swallowed by the whale and spent three days before being delivered, Jesus too spent three days in the grave, only to rise again in victory! Jonah’s story points us to the mercy of God, who offers a second chance and a way out of despair. Through Jesus' suffering, sacrifice, and resurrection, we see that mercy extended to all of humanity—bringing hope even in our deepest moments of despair.
